Job Description – Lead Administrator L2
Wipro is hiring a Lead Administrator – L2 to provide deep technical expertise in architecture planning, observability, and day-to-day operations of enterprise platforms including middleware, databases, backups, and cloud infrastructure. This role combines leadership, advanced observability, AIOps, and platform reliability engineering.
Role Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to design scalable architectures, manage mission-critical operations, and lead teams to ensure high availability, performance, security, and operational excellence across enterprise platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Operations
- Lead architecture planning, migration, and installation for platforms, databases, middleware, and backup systems
- Design highly scalable and extensible platform architectures
- Conduct capacity planning based on current and future requirements
- Implement disaster recovery, backup, and recovery strategies
- Manage day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, RCA, and preventive fixes
- Plan and manage upgrades, migrations, maintenance, and configurations
- Optimize platform performance, efficiency, and reliability
- Create and maintain SOPs, operations manuals, and architecture documentation
- Provide weekly status reports to client leadership and stakeholders
- Drive Service Improvement Plans (SIP) through automation and innovation
Team Management Responsibilities
Resourcing & Talent Management
- Forecast and plan talent requirements
- Hire, onboard, and train team members
- Build a strong internal talent pipeline and promote diversity
- Ensure compliance with Wipro onboarding and training standards
Performance & Engagement
- Set goals, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback
- Drive employee engagement and satisfaction initiatives
- Encourage innovation, ownership, and recognition within the team
Observability & Advanced Technology Expertise
- Splunk ITSI for Citrix observability and service intelligence
- Monitoring VDI & VM environments for performance and scalability
- Hands-on with OpenTelemetry, Kafka, Splunk, Grafana
- AIOps & Machine Learning using Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn
- ETL pipelines using Apache Airflow, NiFi, Spark
- Cloud & distributed systems: Kubernetes, Docker, Istio, Linkerd
- Event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ
- Time-series analysis and predictive analytics
- Security & compliance (GDPR, HIPAA) for observability data
Experience Highlights
- Led large-scale Citrix observability projects with Splunk ITSI
- Improved MTTR by 40% across 1,000+ virtual desktops
- Built ML-driven anomaly detection systems
- Collaborated with SRE, DevOps, and engineering teams to improve reliability
