Job Summary
SAP is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer – Sovereign Cloud to support and operate critical SAP cloud platforms including SAP BTP and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC). This role is part of the Global Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations unit, focusing on secure, compliant, and resilient cloud services for public sector and regulated industries in India.
The role requires deep expertise in CI/CD, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, and Cloud Operations, along with strong collaboration across global engineering, security, and governance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provision, monitor, and operate cloud services in a globally distributed environment
- Manage daily operations of SAP BTP and SAP Analytics Cloud landscapes
- Analyze and resolve operational issues and incidents
- Perform root cause analysis and drive continuous improvements
- Maintain system integrity, availability, and security
- Manage patching, upgrades, refreshes, and periodic maintenance
- Develop basic automation for testing, deployment, scalability, and monitoring
- Partner with product development teams to enhance services
- Implement and document testing strategies and operational procedures
- Provide on-call support for incidents and performance issues
- Collaborate across global teams and participate in cross-training
- Work in a 24/7 operational environment with office presence
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of relevant DevOps / Cloud Operations experience
- Strong expertise with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Concourse, Landscaper
- Hands-on experience with GitOps and GitHub Actions
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform)
- Experience with SAP BTP and Cloud Foundry architecture
- Knowledge of cloud-native development and hyperscaler platforms
- Automation and scripting skills (Python, JavaScript, etc.)
- Strong understanding of:
- Cloud computing and databases
- Web services, networking, virtualization, and internet protocols
- Monitoring and observability tools
- Security fundamentals for SaaS multi-tenant applications
Cloud & Platform Expertise
- AWS services: Route 53, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, ACM, KMS, VPC
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
- Knowledge of security, compliance, and sovereignty requirements
Additional Requirements
- Must be an Indian citizen and willing to undergo security clearance
- Willing to work 5 days from office in a 24/7 on-call environment
- Strong communication, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills
