📝 Job Description
Oracle is hiring a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to support and optimize cloud-based production systems that power mission-critical applications for a global customer base. The Cloud Operations team focuses on reliability, scalability, security, automation, and continuous improvement across multi-cloud environments.
This role is ideal for professionals with strong cloud operations, production support, DevOps, and troubleshooting experience who are comfortable working in a 24×7 operational environment.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, upgrade, and support applications in cloud environments
- Monitor production systems and respond to alerts to ensure high availability
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, application, OS, and network issues
- Perform incident management and provide detailed RCA reports
- Manage backups, data recovery, and disaster recovery planning/testing
- Automate recurring tasks using CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code tools
- Build and maintain cloud environments, servers, and application stacks
- Implement and enforce cloud security best practices
- Support networking tasks: DNS, firewall rules, routing, load balancing
- Collaborate with engineering, QA, DevOps, and support teams
- Maintain system documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
- Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization
- Follow ITIL-based change and service management processes
🎯 Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in:
- Cloud Operations
- IT Operations
- Application / Production Support
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms:
- OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Strong troubleshooting skills on Linux & Windows servers
- Working knowledge of DevOps & CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with automation & configuration tools:
- Git, Jenkins, Terraform, Chef
- Knowledge of Docker & Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals:
- DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancing
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to work in 24×7 rotational shifts
⭐ Good-to-Have Skills
- Exposure to Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Kafka)
- Experience supporting large-scale distributed systems
- Familiarity with ITIL processes
- Structured incident and change management experience
