IBM is hiring an experienced Security Engineer for its product security team in Kochi. This role focuses on secure development practices, automation, CI/CD security integration, and vulnerability management across cloud and backend platforms. If you have strong coding skills and a solid background in DevSecOps, this position offers the chance to contribute to secure, enterprise-grade products.
About the Role
The Security Engineer will work closely with developers, architects, and DevOps teams to embed security across the entire software development lifecycle. You’ll perform security assessments, implement automated checks, guide secure coding, and strengthen the security posture of IBM’s product environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform code reviews, threat modeling, and application security assessments
- Build secure coding practices and automation tools
- Integrate SAST, DAST, and security checks into CI/CD pipelines
- Analyze and remediate vulnerabilities across cloud, APIs, and backend systems
- Collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams to ensure secure configurations
- Drive incident response and root cause analysis for product-level security issues
- Work with QA and engineering teams during release cycles
- Stay updated on emerging threats, tools, and mitigation techniques
- Lead and influence product security decisions
- Manage PSIRT processes
Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of experience in product security or application security
- Hands-on programming skills: Python or Go
- Strong understanding of web app security, API security, and secure SDLC
- Experience with SAST, DAST, and SCA tools such as SonarQube, Twistlock, Mend, Zap, Detect Secret
- Cloud security experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and container security
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline security controls
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
- Background in SaaS or product-based companies
- Experience building custom security tooling or automation
- Certifications such as OSCP, CEH, CISSP, or Cloud Security Specialty
