Introduction
This role gives you the chance to work on processor technologies powering quantum systems and advanced AI computing. You’ll join a high-level engineering team that helps deliver trusted hardware platforms used across the world.
Role and Responsibilities
- Verify processor chip components, Memory BIST, reset flows, and boot firmware.
- Collaborate with design and logic teams to define test scenarios and build test plans.
- Develop and maintain test environments and automated test scripts.
- Ensure verification coverage goals are met by working closely with development and systems teams.
- Create and update formal verification rules for PCIe and PIPE specifications.
- Build expertise in IBM functional verification tools.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree
Required Technical Skills
- 5+ years in pre-silicon functional verification.
- 3+ years working with Memory BIST or reset flow or boot firmware.
- Strong understanding of hardware development lifecycle.
- Expertise in C++ or SystemVerilog for reusable verification components.
- Good understanding of VHDL or Verilog with the ability to debug unexpected RTL behavior.
- Experience defining new verification methods and improving team processes.
- Strong scripting experience in Python or Perl.
- Hands-on test automation experience.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under tight schedules.
- Linux or Unix development experience.
- Experience writing test plans, test cases, reports, and documentation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Technical Skills
- Stress testing and corner-case analysis.
- Understanding of computer architecture and microarchitecture.
- Knowledge of I2C, SPI, and other serial protocols.
- Experience with PHY verification.
- IP integration and SoC understanding.
- Knowledge of server boot flow and secure boot firmware.
