Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is hiring a Principal Site Reliability Developer (IC4) to help design, build, and operate highly reliable, scalable, and efficient large-scale distributed systems.
This role combines software engineering excellence with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices. You will work on automation, observability, performance optimization, and reliability improvements while influencing architecture decisions and mentoring engineers across teams.

🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy software to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency of OCI services
- Build and enhance automation frameworks to eliminate manual toil and prevent recurring incidents
- Implement observability practices including metrics, logging, and distributed tracing
- Lead deployments, capacity planning, and demand forecasting for large-scale systems
- Perform performance analysis, system tuning, and incident response
- Drive architecture standards and best practices for distributed systems
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term fixes
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
- Promote a strong culture of reliability, automation, and continuous improvement
🎯 Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 6+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Software Engineering, or DevOps
- Strong experience with:
- Distributed Systems
- Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
- Java Programming
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Expertise in:
- Automation and CI/CD pipelines
- Reliability engineering and incident management
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Observability tools (metrics, logging, tracing)
- Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence technical direction and collaborate across teams
