💼 Job Description – Principal Consultant, L3 Network Engineer
Genpact is inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant – L3 Network Engineer.
This role is designed for a highly experienced networking professional who will act as a subject matter expert (SME), leading enterprise-scale network design, architecture, and L3 escalation support.
You will drive critical incident management, perform root cause analysis, mentor L1/L2 teams, and collaborate closely with clients on strategic network and cloud initiatives.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, architecture, and deployment of enterprise network solutions (LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, Data Center, Cloud Networking)
- Provide L3 escalation support for complex network incidents
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot:
- Routers & Switches
- Firewalls
- Load Balancers
- VPNs
- Integrate and manage network security solutions (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC)
- Optimize network monitoring and performance tools
- Collaborate on cloud and hybrid networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Create and maintain network documentation, runbooks, SOPs
- Mentor and guide L1/L2 network engineers
- Participate in capacity planning, DR planning, and optimization projects
- Ensure compliance with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
- Participate in 24×7 on-call rotation for critical production environments
🎓 Qualifications Required
✅ Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong expertise in Routing & Switching:
- BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS
- Firewalls & Security:
- Cisco ASA / Firepower
- Palo Alto
- Check Point
- Fortinet
- Load Balancing:
- F5
- Citrix NetScaler
- VPN Technologies:
- IPSec
- SSL
- Remote Access
- SD-WAN:
- Cisco Viptela
- Meraki
- Aruba
- Strong troubleshooting experience with complex L3 network issues
- Knowledge of wireless networking, NAC, WAN optimization
- Cloud networking experience:
- AWS VPC
- Azure VNets
- GCP VPCs
- Hands-on experience with monitoring tools:
- SolarWinds
- Wireshark
- Splunk
- NetFlow
- SNMP
⭐ Preferred Qualifications / Skills
- Cisco CCNP / CCIE (Enterprise, Security, Data Center)
- Palo Alto PCNSE or equivalent
- AWS / Azure Network Specialty certifications (Nice to have)
