Job Overview
As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Oracle, you will own the architecture, deployment, and production operations of critical platform services. You’ll focus on automation, self-healing systems, scalability, performance optimization, and release engineering, ensuring Oracle cloud services meet the highest reliability standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Own architecture, design, implementation, and production operations of platform services
- Improve reliability through automation, monitoring, alerting, and self-healing mechanisms
- Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and preventive improvements
- Design and deploy software to improve availability, scalability, and efficiency
- Support provisioning, configuration, deployment, and operations of platform services
- Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams
- Drive capacity planning, performance tuning, and demand forecasting
- Define and evolve standards, architectures, and best practices for distributed systems
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies for cloud infrastructure challenges
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or related roles
- Strong experience with large-scale distributed systems
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Mesos, or similar container platforms
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools:
- Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Packer
- Strong CI/CD experience using:
- Git, GitLab Runners, Jenkins, Rundeck
- Proficiency in automation and scripting:
- Bash, PowerShell, or similar
- Experience operating highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable systems
- Proficiency in at least one programming language:
- Python, Go, or Java
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider:
- AWS, OCI, GCP, or equivalent
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, monitoring, logging, and analytics
