Job Description
Oracle is hiring a Cloud Operations Engineer to support and optimize production environments, including systems and databases critical to business operations. The role requires strong expertise in Linux administration, cloud infrastructure, and automation tools, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance of Oracle Cloud Services.
You will be responsible for solving complex infrastructure challenges, supporting incident management, and ensuring smooth deployment operations within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and optimize production server hardware and software.
- Handle complex technical escalations and provide resolutions.
- Manage incident and change processes as per SLA standards.
- Monitor system performance and ensure zero-downtime deployments.
- Build and maintain deployment and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
- Develop automation scripts (Python/Bash/Shell).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance scalability and reliability.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues.
- Manage infrastructure using Chef, Terraform, Jenkins, Git, and Docker/Kubernetes.
- Ensure system security and high availability across cloud environments.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of IT industry experience (minimum 4 years in SysAdmin/Support).
- Strong proficiency in Linux system administration and networking.
- Knowledge of Cloud Computing and Load Balancers.
- Hands-on experience with Virtualization technologies.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting (Python, Bash, Shell).
- Familiarity with Monitoring/Instrumentation tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or New Relic.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of system architecture and performance optimization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Work Environment
This role involves collaboration with product and service teams to improve Oracle Cloud Infrastructure operations. Candidates must be open to on-call shifts and rotational support schedules.
