Overview
Join Microsoft’s Azure Networking Team and work on some of the most advanced cloud-scale products on the planet.
This team is responsible for Azure Firewall, Web Application Firewall, and Application Gateway, handling billions of requests per second with high availability and security.
As a Software Engineer, you will design and develop large-scale distributed systems, focusing on network connectivity, load balancing, and threat protection. You’ll also work with technologies like C/C++, C#, Golang, and Rust on both Windows and Linux platforms.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of Azure’s most critical services, collaborating with teams across Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Noida.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Strong coding experience in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years thereafter
Preferred:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with proven experience in coding
- Strong understanding of multi-threading, asynchronous programming, and system design
- Expertise in distributed systems and cloud services (Azure/AWS/GCP)
- Familiarity with HTTP, HTTPS, TCP/UDP, TLS protocols
- Experience in network security or infrastructure engineering
Responsibilities
- Gather and interpret user and feature requirements
- Participate in architecture and design discussions
- Develop and test high-performance distributed systems
- Act as Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) to monitor and maintain live systems
- Continuously enhance system availability, observability, and reliability
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, cloud, and network teams
