As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll help innovate, design, and enhance network systems that power Azure’s cloud networking capabilities. This is your chance to work with distributed systems, cloud-scale microservices, and real-world networking challenges.
Qualifications
✅ Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- 4+ years of experience in software engineering using C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- Experience developing software for Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Knowledge of site reliability engineering (SRE) practices
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years thereafter
💡 Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years OR Master’s Degree with 6+ years in software engineering
- Experience in commercial software development
- 2+ years building, shipping, and maintaining reliable distributed systems
- 2+ years of experience in Software Defined Networking (SDN) (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Design and implement highly scalable SDN services for Azure cloud networking
- Ensure reliable, secure, and high-performance service delivery
- Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) for Azure Networking systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, plan, and deliver networking solutions
- Drive innovation and improvements in performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
- Provide technical mentorship and help define best practices for cloud networking
