Job Description
Role Summary
UST is seeking a skilled Linux & Cloud Engineer with strong expertise in Azure Cloud, AKS, and Terraform. This role focuses on managing enterprise Linux environments, automating infrastructure, and supporting cloud-native platforms using DevOps best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Linux & Unix Systems Administration
- Administer, configure, and troubleshoot Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
- Perform advanced LVM operations including creation, resizing, snapshots, and tuning
- Manage Solaris systems: patching, SMF/service management, and performance monitoring
- Monitor system health, logs, and capacity planning
Automation & Configuration Management
- Develop and maintain automation using Ansible and Ansible Tower / AWX
- Build reusable playbooks, roles, and templates
- Automate compliance checks, baselines, and configuration policies
Cloud & DevOps (Azure Focus)
- Manage Azure services: Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, Virtual Networks, IAM
- Build and support Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
- Administer Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS):
- Node pool lifecycle management
- Upgrades and patching
- Monitoring logs and metrics
- Workload and ingress configuration
Infrastructure as Code
- Design and maintain scalable infrastructure using Terraform
- Create reusable Terraform modules and secure state management
Operational Support
- Perform patching, backups, DR, and system hardening
- Troubleshoot production issues across on-prem and cloud platforms
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and escalation support
- Collaborate with development, cloud, security, and network teams
Required Skills & Experience
- 5–9 years of hands-on Linux administration experience
- Strong knowledge of LVM, filesystems, storage, and backup frameworks
- Proficiency in Ansible and Ansible Tower / AWX
- Solid experience with Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps CI/CD
- Hands-on AKS cluster management
- Strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Terraform
- Proficiency in Bash / Shell scripting
- Good understanding of networking: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls
