📌 Job Overview
HCLTech is hiring an experienced Lead Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to oversee support operations and ensure the reliability, performance, and resilience of mission-critical systems and applications. This role combines technical leadership, cloud reliability engineering, and automation to drive operational excellence across large-scale platforms.
As a Lead SRE, you will manage teams, design reliability strategies, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high availability and scalable systems.
🛠 Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) and support engineers
- Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability metrics
- Identify performance bottlenecks and implement long-term reliability solutions
- Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to optimize system architecture
- Develop and maintain incident response, escalation, and post-mortem processes
- Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual intervention and operational overhead
- Conduct system audits to ensure compliance with best practices and standards
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for critical incidents and prevent recurrence
- Mentor team members and promote continuous learning and improvement
🎯 Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices
- Solid background in system administration, networking, and cloud computing
- Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes container platforms
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex production issues
- Strong analytical, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
☁️ Cloud & DevOps Knowledge (Preferred)
- AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- CI/CD and DevOps best practices
- Automation and scripting (Python, Bash, etc.)
📜 Certifications (Good to Have)
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
- Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer
- Other relevant cloud or SRE certifications
