Job Overview
Intuit is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to join the PDX – Development Ecosystem – IKS team. This role focuses on building, scaling, and operating the Intuit Kubernetes Service (IKS)—a high-performance platform enabling internal and external teams to run secure, scalable, and reliable services.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in Kubernetes (Amazon EKS), GoLang, cloud architecture, DevOps automation, and container orchestration, along with a strong understanding of distributed systems and platform engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate high-scale mission-critical Kubernetes platform services.
- Collaborate with product owners and architects to refine product vision and feature requirements.
- Continuously enhance the IKS platform by resolving technical debt, bugs, and security gaps.
- Build robust, scalable, and high-performance software components.
- Lead architecture discussions, code reviews, and design reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers and support technical leadership initiatives.
- Integrate IKS platform capabilities with other Intuit SaaS systems and tools.
- Stay updated with Kubernetes ecosystem innovations and introduce improvements proactively.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
- 10+ years of proven experience in software development and system architecture.
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes, especially:
- Amazon EKS
- Operators
- Custom controllers
- Kubernetes clients, shared informers, caches
- Strong proficiency in GoLang.
- Expertise in AWS, Docker, Ingress, Service Mesh.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, monitoring, logging.
- Additional programming knowledge: Java, Python (bonus).
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
