Introduction
IBM’s Linux Technology Centre is dedicated to making Linux better while driving innovation in the open-source community. As a Linux Development Engineer, you will contribute to hardware bring-up for IBM Power Systems, collaborate with open-source communities, and work with cutting-edge infrastructure technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Bring-up of IBM Power Hardware on simulators and real environments (QEMU, Simulators).
- Hardware configuration bring-up, PCIe/PHB bring-up, JTAG debugging, system dump management.
- In-band communication with BMC, XIVE interrupt controllers, and OpenCAPI/CXL.
- Upstream contributions to open-source communities.
- Collaborate with IBM hardware and software teams to enable enterprise-grade solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in hardware bring-up, debugging, and system architecture.
- Strong programming expertise in C.
- Solid understanding of Operating Systems and Computer Systems Architecture.
- Experience with PCI/PCIe drivers, PCI enumeration, Root Complex, IOMMU, PLDM, Link Equalization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology.
