About the Role
IBM Consulting is hiring a Data Engineer – Data Platforms – AWS to join its Client Innovation Center in Pune. This position involves working on Big Data technologies, data engineering, and AWS Cloud Data Platforms. You’ll be responsible for developing, maintaining, and testing advanced data solutions using Spark Framework, Python, and Scala to drive innovation and data efficiency across industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage data pipelines for ingestion, processing, and transformation from various sources.
- Build and optimize big data solutions using Spark, Python, PySpark, Scala, and AWS.
- Work with Hadoop, AWS Glue, EMR, DataBricks, and RedShift.
- Design and implement streaming pipelines using Kafka and other big data/cloud technologies.
- Write efficient, scalable code for large-scale data management and transformation.
Required Skills and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred)
- Experience: 5–7+ years in Data Engineering, Big Data, and Data Management
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in Spark/Python/Scala
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Data Platforms
- Strong understanding of SQL, data lakes, and data warehouse systems
- Exposure to Kafka and streaming solutions
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in AWS, DataBricks, or Cloudera Spark Developer
- Strong analytical thinking and debugging skills
- Ability to work on end-to-end cloud data pipeline development
