Introduction
This position is part of IBM’s Consulting Client Innovation Centers. These teams deliver deep technical expertise to public and private sector clients, helping them adopt modern technologies and improve their operations.
Role Overview
As a Data Engineer, you’ll work with large datasets, real-time pipelines, and complex integration environments. You’ll collaborate with technical teams to build robust data systems, optimize workflows, and support advanced analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and validate predictive and statistical models for big data systems.
- Develop enterprise search applications such as Elasticsearch and Splunk.
- Work with cross-functional teams including engineers, scientists, consultants, and DBAs.
- Write reusable programs for data cleansing, transformation, and integration.
- Support predictive and prescriptive model development and evaluation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create and maintain pipelines for batch and streaming data using Informatica PowerCenter or cloud ETL/ELT tools.
- Collaborate with business teams and technical leads to gather requirements and identify data sources.
- Detect data quality issues and design target data models.
- Build data processing routines, run unit tests, and support UAT.
- Assist data science and analytics teams with ingestion and technical problem-solving.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree
Required Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge in Data Warehousing, Data Integration, and BI using Informatica PowerCenter.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies, Power BI, and cloud migration.
- Unix shell scripting and Python experience.
- Hands-on with SQL and big data environments.
Preferred Technical Skills
- Microsoft Azure exposure.
- Additional experience with Informatica PowerCenter.
- Advanced Unix scripting and Python skills.
