Berger Paints, India’s second-largest paint manufacturer, has completed a major modernization of its core IT systems by moving all mission-critical databases to Oracle Exadata Database Service on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The shift has helped the company improve operational efficiency by 25 percent and cut report generation time by half.
The migration includes Berger Paints’ financial systems, process manufacturing modules, warehouse operations, sales and service applications, and enterprise asset management. With rapid business expansion and a 2.5X surge in database workloads over the years, the company needed a platform that could offer better scalability, resilience, and faster insight generation. Oracle Exadata Database Service was chosen for its performance, automation, and security features.
Partha Protim Mondal, CIO of Berger Paints India Ltd., said the move has strengthened the company’s ability to deploy AI and machine learning at scale while keeping operational costs in check.
Oracle highlighted that India’s paint industry is evolving quickly as urbanization and infrastructure projects grow. With OCI’s disaster recovery, redundancy, object storage, and block volume capabilities, Berger Paints now has a more dependable and flexible environment to manage high-volume data workloads.
The company used the Oracle Cloud Mumbai and Hyderabad regions to support its migration, ensuring improved business continuity and quick access to large datasets required for analytics and day-to-day operations.
