Job Description
Amazon is hiring a Senior Compliance Analyst for the AWS Economic Development team. The selected candidate will handle compliance, reporting, and policy initiatives related to Amazon’s economic development and incentives portfolio. This role involves close collaboration with government agencies and multiple internal teams including Legal, HR, Finance, and Infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with national, state, and local economic development and taxation agencies.
- Manage compliance, forecasting, tracking, and program implementation.
- Develop tools and processes for consistent data collection and compliance reporting.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
- Research and interpret contractual, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze large Excel data sets for reporting and insights.
- Lead automation and process improvement initiatives.
- Deliver regular performance metrics and dashboards.
A Day in the Life
You’ll work across global AWS economic development projects, managing compliance for incentives and expansion programs. This includes research, benchmarking, and the implementation of new systems to streamline compliance tracking and reporting.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Finance, Accounting, Tax, or Business.
- 5+ years of experience in compliance, incentives, tax, public policy, or program management.
- Proven experience managing multi-jurisdictional portfolios.
- Strong understanding of tax codes and legal agreements.
- Skilled in program strategy and audit-ready documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, MBA, or Master of Tax/JD/LLM preferred.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication.
- Proficiency in Excel, CRM, and automation tools.
- Experience in economic development, data centers, or government relations.
