Job Overview
As a Linux / Solaris Administrator (Senior Systems Engineer) at Oracle, you will be part of the Advanced Customer Support (ACS) organization, delivering post-sales support and mission-critical solutions to Oracle customers worldwide.
You will work closely with customer IT teams to resolve complex infrastructure issues, manage Oracle Engineered Systems, and ensure high availability, performance, disaster recovery, and compliance across enterprise platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver post-sales technical support for Oracle customers
- Act as a primary technical contact for escalated infrastructure issues
- Install, maintain, patch, and troubleshoot Oracle products and platforms
- Support Solaris & Linux servers with performance tuning and optimization
- Provide 3rd & 4th level support for Oracle Engineered Systems
- Implement and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) plans
- Ensure engineering standards, controls, and compliance
- Participate in customer-driven projects and implementations
- Perform lifecycle management including monitoring, support, and upgrades
- Enable customers to fully leverage Oracle Engineered Systems features
- Work independently with minimal supervision while updating management on progress
Required Technical & Professional Expertise
- 7+ years of experience in Solaris / Linux Server Administration
- In-depth knowledge of:
- Oracle SuperCluster
- Exadata / EXACC
- M8-8 Server Administration
- Strong experience with:
- Patching & performance tuning
- Troubleshooting enterprise systems
- Expertise in:
- PDOM / LDOM configuration
- ZFS configuration & patching
- Oracle Private Cloud Appliance (PCA)
- Experience delivering projects on:
- Exadata, ZDLRA, Oracle Engineered Systems
- Capacity planning, tuning, and system-level troubleshooting
- Oracle Kubernetes Administration
- Ability to work in 24×7 support environments
- Strong customer-facing and communication skills
Added Advantage
- Scripting knowledge (Shell, Bash, Python, etc.)
- Cloud certifications or cloud platform knowledge
