🎯 Role Purpose
The role focuses on providing deep technical expertise in Oracle database architecture, planning, design, and operations, along with managing day-to-day database operations and ensuring high availability, performance, and security across enterprise environments.
📝 Key Responsibilities
- Architecture planning and design for database and platform towers
- Oracle DB installation, configuration, patch management, and upgrades
- Performance tuning, troubleshooting, and security hardening
- Database migration and implementation activities
- Oracle 12c/19c administration on Unix (Standalone & RAC)
- Manage Oracle RAC, ASM, disk management, and node eviction issues
- RMAN backup and recovery management
- AWR, ADDM analysis, explain plan monitoring, and SQL tuning
- Handle database incidents, slow performance, and connectivity issues
- Provide RCA for P1/P2 critical incidents and attend severity calls
☁️ Azure Cloud & Automation Responsibilities
- Azure portal navigation, monitoring, and core components
- Azure PaaS exposure with focus on security and cost optimization
- Automation using Ansible, Terraform, ARM/Bicep, PowerShell
- Deploy and troubleshoot Terraform code
- Manage Ansible playbooks and Ansible Tower
- Work on DevOps integration and one-touch automation solutions
🎓 Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8–15 years overall Oracle DBA experience
- 3–5 years hands-on experience with Azure PaaS
- Advanced Oracle performance tuning & troubleshooting skills
- Strong knowledge of HA/DR, automation, and cost optimization
- Expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN
- SQL & PL/SQL scripting and shell scripting skills
- Experience with ITIL processes and problem management
- Exposure to Redis, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or NoSQL is a plus
