Job Description – Lead Administrator L1
Wipro is hiring a Lead Administrator L1 / Systems Engineer with strong expertise in DNS, Domain Management, Certificate Lifecycle Operations, and Infrastructure Automation. This role focuses on managing mission-critical enterprise infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, scalability, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Core Technical Responsibilities
- Administer domains, DNS zones, DNSSEC, failover strategies, and split-horizon DNS
- Manage end-to-end certificate lifecycle including issuance, renewal automation, deployment, and compliance
- Design and maintain automation pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, Python, and Bash
- Administer and optimize Linux systems (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS)
- Work across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for DNS, networking, compute, and IAM
- Integrate DNS and certificate workflows into CI/CD pipelines for zero-touch operations
- Implement monitoring and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK
Platform & Tower Responsibilities
- Provide architecture planning, migration, and installation support for new projects
- Lead structural and architectural design for platform, middleware, database, and backup towers
- Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning
- Strategize and implement disaster recovery, backup, and restoration plans
- Manage day-to-day tower operations including incident troubleshooting and RCA
- Plan and manage upgrades, migrations, maintenance, and configurations
- Create and maintain SOPs, operational manuals, data matrices, and test plans
- Deliver weekly status reports to client leadership and internal stakeholders
- Drive Service Improvement Plans (SIP) through automation initiatives
Team Management Responsibilities
Resourcing
- Forecast talent requirements based on current and future business needs
- Hire, onboard, and train appropriate resources
- Guide recruitment and selection decisions
Talent & Performance Management
- Ensure compliance with Wipro onboarding and training standards
- Build internal talent pools and support career progression
- Promote diversity in leadership roles
- Set goals, conduct appraisals, and provide constructive feedback
Employee Engagement
- Drive engagement initiatives and recognition programs
- Track team satisfaction metrics
- Encourage participation in larger organizational initiatives
Required Skills
- 3–6 years of experience in Systems Engineering / Cloud Infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of DNS (public & private), domain management, PKI & certificates
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD, GitOps
- Proficiency in Linux administration and scripting (Bash, Python)
- Experience with DNS providers such as Cloudflare, Route53, Akamai, UltraDNS
Nice to Have
- Automated certificate workflows (ACME, Certbot, Venafi)
- Experience with load balancers, reverse proxies, and HA DNS architectures
- Exposure to SRE or DevOps practices
