Role & Responsibilities
As a GCP Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring platform reliability, automation, and performance across cloud and data platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver GCP Cloud Engineering services for data, database, and storage platforms
- Design, provision, and manage GCP infrastructure using Terraform (IaC)
- Implement automation, policies, and guardrails for scalable platform readiness
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, and Harness
- Manage and support Kubernetes clusters (GKE / OpenShift)
- Ensure high availability through monitoring, alerting, incident management, and RCA
- Collaborate with data teams to optimize BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub workloads
- Support production incidents and continuously improve system reliability
Core Technical Skills (Must Have)
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
- CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub, Harness
- Kubernetes (GKE / OpenShift)
- Python scripting for automation
- Cloud Storage platforms
Good to Have Skills
- Experience with Backstage IDP or similar developer platforms
- Knowledge of GCP data services:
- Cloud SQL
- Google Cloud Storage (GCS)
- Pub/Sub
- Dataflow
- BigQuery
- Vertex AI
- Exposure to private cloud environments
Experience Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in SRE / DevOps / Cloud Engineering roles
- Strong hands-on experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Proven experience managing enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology or equivalent
