💼 Job Description – Platform Engineering
Infosys is hiring experienced Platform Engineering professionals to design, build, and operate Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) that enhance developer productivity and streamline the software delivery lifecycle. This role focuses on DevOps automation, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes platforms, cloud infrastructure, and developer experience optimization.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Internal Developer Platform (IDP) tools
- Build and enhance self-service capabilities such as:
- Resource provisioning
- CI/CD pipelines
- Service management
- Integrate tools like Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Helm into a unified developer experience
- Ensure platform scalability, availability, security, and performance
- Automate manual processes to reduce friction in the development lifecycle
- Collaborate closely with development teams to identify pain points and deliver productivity improvements
- Continuously optimize platforms for performance, security, and developer experience
- Work with DevOps, Security, and Engineering teams to meet operational requirements
- Design and integrate new features within the IDP ecosystem
- Provide documentation and training for platform adoption
- Monitor platform performance and gather feedback for continuous improvement
- Stay updated with emerging trends in Platform Engineering and Developer Productivity
- Provide proactive problem-solving, debugging, and technical support
⭐ Additional & Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microservices Architecture
- Service Mesh exposure: Istio, Cilium
- API management experience
- Familiarity with developer experience tools such as GitLab, Jira, Slack
- Experience with observability tools:
- Prometheus
- Grafana
- Datadog
- Strong understanding of security best practices:
- RBAC
- Token management
- Experience working in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
🧠 Technical & Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with:
- CI/CD pipelines
- Terraform
- Kubernetes
- Docker
- Jenkins
- Service Mesh
- Cloud DevOps Automation (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- 2+ years of experience with IDP tools, such as:
- Backstage
- Humanitec
- Port
- Cortex
- Strong programming/scripting skills in:
- Python
- Go
- JavaScript
- Experience with CI/CD tools:
- Jenkins
- GitHub Actions
- GitLab CI
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
- Terraform
- CloudFormation
- Ansible
- Strong understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP
