Role Proficiency
As an Associate III – Semiconductor Product Validation, you will perform root cause analysis, bug advocacy, and validation activities on semiconductor products. The role requires working with minimal supervision while tracking defects to closure and collaborating closely with internal teams and customers.
Key Outcomes & Responsibilities
Validation & Analysis
- Conduct validation testing and root cause analysis of semiconductor products
- Perform escape analysis and isolate failures to the correct components
- Execute test cases across product functionalities
- Identify, log, and track failures in test repositories and bug trackers
Customer & Stakeholder Interaction
- Attend customer meetings and clearly communicate:
- Requirements
- Test results
- Failure analysis findings
Process & Learning
- Learn technology, business, and system domains independently and as guided
- Complete mandatory certifications such as:
- ISTQB
- UST GAMMA
- Adhere to validation standards, processes, and timelines
Performance Measures
- Number of critical and showstopper defects identified
- Adherence to project schedules and timelines
- Reduction in defect reoccurrence as per SLA
- Turnaround time for production bug resolution
- Compliance with validation processes
- Completion of mandatory training requirements
Expected Outputs
Project Management
- Deliver assigned tasks with high quality and within defined timelines
Estimation

Documentation

Status Reporting
- Provide regular status updates
- Ensure compliance with validation standards
Mentoring
- Conduct training sessions for junior validation engineers
- Set and review FAST goals for mentees
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong bug advocacy and defect analysis skills
- Experience with Windows and Linux OS environments
- Knowledge of BIOS, drivers, and display protocols
- Ability to identify severity and priority of defects
- Hands-on experience with benchmarking tools
- Basic automation and scripting skills
- Familiarity with Perl / Python scripting
- Strong analytical, reasoning, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in team environments
Technical Knowledge
- CPU / GPU architecture fundamentals
- PC architecture and modern hardware-software interactions
- Windows debugger setup and collaboration with development teams
- Proficiency in:
- Windows OS
- Linux OS
- Microsoft Office tools
Required Qualifications
- BE / BTech with 2+ years of experience
- Strong understanding of Linux and Windows environments
- Organized, self-driven, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently
