Job Description
UST is looking for a skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer with strong experience in Linux system administration, automation, and CI/CD pipelines. This role focuses on infrastructure automation, system reliability, security hardening, and collaboration across development and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and automate Linux-based infrastructure (CentOS/RHEL preferred)
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab CI
- Develop and manage Ansible playbooks for configuration management and automation
- Create and maintain automation scripts using Bash and Python
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues across environments
- Participate in vulnerability discovery, patching, and security hardening
- Manage both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure
- Analyze system logs and metrics using tools like Splunk
Primary Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Linux System Administration
- Strong proficiency in Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
- Experience with Ansible or Puppet
- Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)
- Good understanding of Git and version control workflows
- Proficiency with JSON and YAML
- Solid understanding of networking, DNS, firewalls, and monitoring
Secondary Skills
- Experience with RESTful APIs
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack
- Experience with Docker and containerization
- Understanding of Kubernetes orchestration
- Experience with Terraform or other IaC tools
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices
Good to Have Skills
- Experience with hybrid infrastructure (On-Prem + Cloud)
- Knowledge of security compliance and audits
- System benchmarking and performance tuning
- Basic knowledge of databases and CI/CD integration
Soft Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Passion for automation and system reliability
- Strong problem-solving mindset and adaptability
