Job Description
Role Summary
UST is looking for a skilled Linux and AWS Administrator with strong hands-on experience in Linux system administration, cloud infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD pipelines. The role involves managing highly available systems, automating infrastructure, ensuring security compliance, and supporting modern cloud-native and big data environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Linux OS-level administration including upgrades, patching, vulnerability remediation
- Monitor system performance to ensure high availability and reliability
- Manage and secure Linux systems with strong knowledge of networking, firewalls, and system security
- Administer and support AWS cloud infrastructure and services
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible
- Automate configuration management using Ansible
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
- Develop automation scripts using Python and Shell
- Maintain system security including Kerberos and Active Directory integration
- Administer large-scale Big Data clusters
- Support Big Data tools such as Hue, Hive, Spark, Jupyter, SAS, and R-Studio
- Build, deploy, and monitor containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes / EKS
Technical & Professional Skills
- Strong Linux Administration experience (OS upgrades, patching, security)
- In-depth knowledge of Linux internals, networking, firewalls, and security
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services
- Expertise in Ansible and Terraform for automation and IaC
- Strong experience in Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
- Scripting skills in Python and Shell
- Experience with Kerberos and Active Directory
- Exposure to Big Data platforms and tools
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS EKS
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
