Job Overview:
Intuit is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer in Data Engineering to join the Business Platform Services (BPS) team. You will drive the data strategy and delivery across QuickBooks and other core small business products. The role focuses on cloud data platforms, AI integration, and scalable data solutions to support Intuit’s global mission to power prosperity.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and operate robust, high-performance data pipelines (batch & real-time) and platforms on AWS Cloud.
- Build AI-native applications leveraging Generative AI (LLMs, diffusion models) and integrate with RAG frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Product, AI & Data Science, Architecture, and DevOps.
- Drive operational excellence in enterprise data architecture, data governance, and AI-powered analytics.
- Conduct POCs and optimize performance, cost, and scalability of data systems.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to engineering teams.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
- 12+ years in software/data engineering with senior/staff-level experience.
- Expertise in Big Data frameworks: Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, NoSQL (Hive, HBase, Cassandra, Redshift).
- Strong AWS Cloud experience: EC2, S3, EMR, DynamoDB, Athena.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML pipelines, GenAI models, LangChain, Hugging Face, OpenAI/Anthropic APIs.
- Familiarity with MLOps/LLMOps, CI/CD pipelines for AI workloads.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Go; understanding of distributed systems and data modeling.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in data governance, ontology, lineage, and discoverability.
- Expertise in scaling enterprise data systems for petabyte-level workloads.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Leadership experience with ability to influence business and technical decisions.
