Job Description
As a Senior/Lead Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the high reliability, performance, and availability of DXC’s enterprise platforms. You will manage production systems, build automation, optimize cloud environments, and support mission-critical financial systems with a deep understanding of distributed architectures.
This position is ideal for professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and excel at integrating modern DevOps practices, strong scripting capabilities, and cloud-native engineering approaches.
Required Skills & Experience
- 12+ years of application development & support experience
- 3+ years hands-on experience with AWS / Azure
- Strong scripting expertise in Python, Groovy, and Linux environments
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools (preferably Jenkins)
- Experience using infrastructure tools: Terraform, GitHub, Ansible
- Ability to manage mission-critical systems and troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to adopt new technologies, innovate, and influence engineering improvements
- Strong time management and task prioritization skills
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and run production environments ensuring continuous system health and availability
- Operate core banking ledger and switch systems with required domain knowledge
- Build software, automation, and infrastructure solutions across AWS and Azure
- Enhance reliability, quality, and release cycles for platform solutions
- Conduct chaos engineering tests, performance tests, and functional validations
- Develop test frameworks for multiple communication protocols:
- HTTPS
- Kafka (AVRO/JSON)
- AS2805 (SNMP)
- MQ
- ODBC
- Continuously measure system performance and implement optimizations
- Provide primary operational support for large-scale distributed applications
- Build and manage automation pipelines for cloud components
- Improve logging, cybersecurity, and reliability strategies
- Perform detailed post-mortem analysis and develop preventive remediation
- Ensure issues do not recur by implementing robust engineering safeguards
