🔍 Role Overview – What You’ll Do
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will own mission-critical components of SAP AI Core and Generative AI Hub. This role blends hands-on engineering with architectural responsibilities.
End-to-End Engineering Ownership
- Own backend/platform components across design → build → deploy → support.
- Deliver complex features with strong ownership and autonomy.
- Perform deep technical investigations, tuning & reliability improvements.
System & Platform Design
- Participate in architectural reviews & propose scalable solutions.
- Create design documents, flows, and sequence diagrams.
- Understand cross-system AI workflows (pipelines, executions, model lifecycle).
Core Engineering Responsibilities
- Build microservices using Python / Java / Go.
- Integrate with SAP BTP and cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Enhance observability (logs, metrics, tracing, dashboards).
- Strengthen CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling.
- Implement security, performance, and architectural best practices.
DevOps & Reliability Engineering
- Support production workloads + internal platform users.
- Troubleshoot incidents & implement permanent fixes.
- Improve system performance, scalability, & cost efficiency.
- Automate reliability checks and testing.
Collaboration & Mentorship
- Mentor junior engineers through reviews and technical coaching.
- Work with global teams across multiple time zones.
- Contribute to organization-wide engineering improvements.
✔ What You Bring
- 5–10 years experience in platform/software engineering.
- Strong CS fundamentals: algorithms, DS, OOP, design patterns.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, microservices.
- Hands-on Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native development.
- Strong programming skills in Python / Java / Go / TypeScript.
- Experience building scalable microservices.
- CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- IaC experience: Terraform or similar.
- Exposure to GenAI, LLMs, embeddings, or RAG architecture.
- Strong communication & architectural decision-making skills.
