Role Overview
As a Senior Applications Engineer (Performance Engineering), you will ensure Oracle Health Sciences applications deliver seamless, fast, and reliable user experiences. You’ll work on complex systems to identify performance bottlenecks, optimize architecture, and ensure scalability using modern cloud and DevOps tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute performance tests across the stack using LoadRunner, JMeter, and Selenium.
- Analyze metrics via Prometheus, New Relic, and DynaTrace to identify and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with teams to optimize code, database, and architecture.
- Establish performance monitoring frameworks to ensure high system reliability.
- Automate performance testing and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
- Translate NFRs into load profiles and test strategies.
- Proactively detect performance trends and prevent potential degradation.
- Mentor peers and share best practices in performance engineering.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering / Computer Science (minimum 60% aggregate).
- 4+ years of experience in Performance Engineering or Application Performance Testing.
- Hands-on expertise with JMeter, LoadRunner, Prometheus, DynaTrace, JProfiler, and Jenkins.
- Proficient in Oracle Database architecture, SQL/PLSQL tuning, and data modeling.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices.
- Experience with stress, capacity, and reliability testing.
- Strong UNIX shell scripting and performance analysis skills using AWR/ASH reports.
Preferred Skills
- Programming in Java, C, or Python.
- Familiarity with Grafana, Kibana, and observability tools.
- Experience with REST/SOAP, XML, and DevOps environments.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
