Overview

The Azure and Edge Performance team focuses on optimizing performance for Microsoft’s cloud services and server applications. This role involves designing and operating infrastructure for validating Azure’s performance, improving data collection and analysis, and reporting results to stakeholders.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance reliability, efficiency, and scalability — contributing to solutions that power millions of users worldwide.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 3+ years of experience in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • 1+ years of experience developing on and for Linux.
  • Familiarity with programming in SQL or KQL.
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years thereafter.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with SPEC, TPC, Linux performance tuning tools (perf, atop, flame graphs).
  • Hands-on with cloud infrastructure development, containers, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL workloads, automation frameworks, dashboards, and data science tools.

Responsibilities

  • Define, implement, and execute test plans to meet release priorities.
  • Validate and triage test results and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Onboard and optimize industry-standard benchmarks and workloads.
  • Build secure, flexible infrastructure for performance testing.
  • Develop and maintain reliable data engineering pipelines and systems.
