Job Description
The IBM Storage team is hiring a Fusion Data Foundation L3 Engineer in Bangalore. In this role, you’ll use your deep Linux storage system expertise to support and sustain IBM’s enterprise storage products. You’ll serve as an escalation point for complex issues, mentor L2 engineers, and collaborate globally to deliver world-class customer experiences.
This role requires strong technical proficiency, creative problem-solving, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic, evolving environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert L3-level support to L2 engineers for complex customer cases.
- Handle critical escalations and ensure top-quality resolutions for major customer issues.
- Collaborate with product management teams to improve product performance and user experience.
- Analyze product issues and deliver actionable feedback to development and support teams.
- Mentor L2 engineers and promote a culture of technical excellence across support teams.
Required Technical & Professional Expertise
- 6+ years of experience in L3 support, sustaining engineering, or development.
- Advanced Linux storage system administration skills (installation, maintenance, scripting, and debugging).
- Strong scripting and programming knowledge: Python, Bash, Go, or C/C++.
- Expertise in distributed storage architecture and troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to work effectively in global, cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of storage systems (Block, File, Object), Rook, Scale, or Ceph.
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerized storage systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Exposure to open-source development and community collaboration.
