Job Description
At IBM’s Linux Technology Centre, our mission is to make Linux better for enterprise workloads. We contribute to open-source communities, develop advanced Linux features, and optimize performance on IBM Power Systems.
As a Linux Development Manager, you will lead a team of engineers to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-level Linux features. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and the open-source community to enhance kernel components, manage system performance, and drive innovation across IBM Power systems.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead product development for enterprise Linux features — memory management, CPU scheduler, RAS, I/O, and KVM.
- Manage and mentor a team of software engineers.
- Collaborate with Linux kernel communities and IBM product teams.
- Provide technical direction and guide architectural discussions.
- Foster team growth and continuous improvement.
Required Technical & Professional Expertise
- 15+ years of experience in systems software development.
- Strong background in C, C++, or Python.
- Proven experience in Linux kernel or open-source community projects.
- Leadership experience managing complex technical projects.
- Ability to mentor and lead high-performing technical teams.
