The Linux Technology Centre at IBM is hiring for its Linux Functional Verification Team. This role offers the opportunity to work on next-gen IBM POWER Systems, Linux kernel, qemu, libvirt, system simulators, and open-source development. You will design and develop test cases, automate testing, and collaborate with the open-source community.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Validate Linux kernel modules and virtualization components (upstream/distro releases).
- Develop and automate new test cases and integrate into test frameworks.
- Collaborate with IBM development teams to resolve issues and validate fixes.
- Perform diagnosis, troubleshooting, and defect reporting.
- Work with open-source communities and IBM partners.
- Drive test automation efficiency using AI/ML methodologies.
✅ Required Skills
- 3–10 years of industry experience.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Shell scripting, C, C++.
- Hands-on Linux platform testing or development.
- Knowledge of Linux OS internals, Qemu, libvirt, Containers.
- Test automation & DevOps methodologies.
- Good understanding of system architecture & operating systems concepts.
🌟 Preferred Skills
- Advanced expertise in Linux internals, KVM, qemu, libvirt.
- Experience with open-source community participation (Git, etc.).
- Virtualization, storage, and IO technologies.
- IBM Power Systems Software/Architecture experience.
- Knowledge of AI/ML for testing automation.
