Job Description
Oracle is hiring a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer in Bengaluru to support and optimize production environments, including systems and databases critical to business operations. This role ensures availability, scalability, security, and efficiency of Oracle Cloud Services while troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues and supporting large-scale distributed systems.
This is a critical opportunity to combine deep technical knowledge with operational excellence in a global enterprise cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain production environments (servers, systems, and databases).
- Install, monitor, support, and optimize server hardware and software.
- Provide escalation support for complex technical issues.
- Perform incident management – respond, troubleshoot, and resolve issues as per SLA.
- Handle release management – test, deploy, and automate deployments with zero downtime.
- Ensure production security posture and effective monitoring systems.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or critical incidents.
- Collaborate with product and development teams to meet SLAs and unblock customers.
- Contribute to capacity planning, system tuning, and performance analysis.
Required Skills
- 5+ years overall IT experience, with at least 4 years as Sys Admin/Support.
- Strong Linux administration and system architecture skills.
- Hands-on with virtualization technologies and cloud computing concepts.
- Scripting knowledge: Python, Bash, Shell (basic Java/Go is a plus).
- Proficiency in networking, load balancers, and distributed systems.
- Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, Elastic).
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools – Jenkins, Git, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Artifactory.
- Proven track record in managing high-scale deployments with high throughput & IO.
Qualifications
- Career Level: IC3
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts and provide on-call support.
