Microsoft’s Silicon Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) team is driving innovations that power Microsoft’s Azure, Office 365, Bing, OneDrive, Xbox, and more. This Linux-focused HPC Systems Engineering role is part of Microsoft’s Silicon Development Compute Solutions (SDCS) team.

✅ Key Responsibilities
- Administer and optimize Linux environments (Red Hat, Rocky Linux) across on-premises and Azure cloud platforms.
- Manage display and authentication services such as Exceed TurboX, VNC, RHDS, FreeIPA.
- Collaborate on storage with technologies like Isilon, Pure, Azure NetApp Files (ANF).
- Create, maintain, and improve monitoring and alerting systems.
- Work with Engineering/CAD teams on complex technical challenges in HPC.
- Create detailed documentation and mentor junior engineers.
- Promote operational excellence through automation, scripting, and best practices.
🧾 Qualifications
Required:
- 7+ years of experience in Linux License Server Administration.
- 3+ years of experience in system automation using Shell, Perl, or Python.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Engineering.
- Hands-on understanding of networks, automation, monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with EDA tools and workflows.
- Experience with cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
